Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these simple steps to make crispy broasted chicken at home. The process is easy and beginner-friendly. Each step ensures juicy meat with a crunchy coating.
Step 1: Marinate the Chicken
Wash and pat dry the chicken pieces.
In a bowl, mix buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Add the chicken pieces and coat them well.
Cover the bowl and place it in the fridge to marinate for 2 hours or overnight.
Step 2: Prepare the Coating
In a separate bowl, pour in the all-purpose flour.
Add a pinch of salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix well.
Step 3: Coat the Chicken
Take the marinated chicken out of the fridge.
One by one, dip each piece into the flour mix.
Shake off extra flour and place aside.
Step 4: Fry the Chicken
Heat the oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
Gently place 2–3 chicken pieces at a time.
Fry for 15 to 18 minutes, turning once halfway.
Remove and place on paper towels to absorb extra oil.
Step 5: Serve
Serve hot with your favorite side dishes like fries, coleslaw, or sauces.
Add lemon wedges on the side for extra flavor and freshness.
For a complete meal, pair with buttered dinner rolls or garlic rice.
