Step 1: Prepare the Sauce
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
Add chopped onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until soft.
Add minced garlic and stir for another 30 seconds.
Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.
Stir in the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for 10–12 minutes to build flavor.
Step 2: Mix the Ricotta Filling
In a medium bowl, mix:
2 cups ricotta cheese
1 large egg
Optional: chopped spinach or parsley
Pinch of salt and pepper
Mix until smooth and creamy.
Step 3: Layer the Lasagna
Spread 1 cup of sauce on the bottom of the baking dish.
Lay 3 to 4 San Giorgio lasagna noodles flat over the sauce.
