About Cold Coffee Recipe

Ice cold coffee is simply the best beverage to enjoy hot summer days. Although I drink tea, but it’s feel good to have a cup of cold coffee occasionally and this is my favorite one.

There is a delightful frothy layer on the top, and it is easy to find at nearly every local coffee shop. This cold coffee recipe is made with sugar and milk blended together. It is refreshing beverage.

You can also make delicious cold coffee using traditionally brewed Filter Coffee or espresso. Prepare your drip coffee or espresso per usual, and allow it to cool (at room temperature or in the refrigerator) before using to make icy blended coffee shakes.

You can add flavors according to your taste. The taste is like lighter Frappe. I often use coffee powder to make this quick and easy recipe. You could use granular instant coffee.

Make Coffee Mixture

  1. Firstly, add 1 tablespoon of instant coffee to a bowl. If using brewed filter coffee or espresso you can add ¼ cup directly to the blender jar as shown in step 3 below.
  2.   Add ¼ cup of warm water (not hot) to the instant coffee. Stir and mix very well.
  3.  Blend Coffee Concoction
  4.   Add the coffee solution to a blender jar.
  5.   Next add 3 to 4 tablespoons of sugar.
  6.  Blend for a minute or until the coffee solution becomes frothy and the color fades to a lighter shade of brown.
  7.  Make Iced
  8.  Add 6 or 7 ice cubes. For a thicker blended cold coffee use just 2 to 4 cubes of ice.
  9.   Then pour in 2 cups of cold or chilled milk. To make this recipe, I used whole milk. See FAQs below for low fat cold coffee tips.
  10.   Blend once for again just a few seconds, until everything is mixed well and you get a nice frothy and foamy layer on top.

. Pour into tall glasses and serve cold coffee immediately. The frothy top layer will settle into the beverage as it sits, so it’s best to enjoy blended iced coffee right away.

Expert Tips

Coffee: Make use your favorite brand of instant coffee. The instant coffee can be finely ground or in granules.

Sweetener: Add your preferred sweetener. I always add raw sugar but you can experiment with various types of sugar like palm or coconut sugar or sweeteners like maple syrup or honey.

For a stronger coffee flavor: If you prefer a stronger and slightly bitter taste in your cold coffee, increase the amount of instant coffee to 1.5 or 2 tablespoons.

Creamy consistency: Include about ¼ cup of light or whipping cream while blending to make your cold coffee rich and creamy. You may need to add some sugar if you include cream. So do check the taste after the coffee is blended and add more sugar as needed.

You can make cold coffee without blender. You can use a mason jar or shaken bottle to make it.
To make cold coffee without blender use following procedure
1. Make a coffee mixture in a jar.
2. Pour the chilled milk.
3. Secure it and shake it for 1-2 minutes.
4. Remember that not too much shake that butter come on top.

The other is also simple. You can simply make a coffee in your serving cup and then pour the chilled milk.
For 1 minute froth it until you see froth on top.

Pro Tips.

As the drink is diluted with ice, so the strength of instant coffee mixture must be higher than it is made for normal coffee. It becomes flavorless unless you add a good amount of coffee to suit your taste.
Chilled milk helps to create thick froth, so use full fat chilled milk. If you are not using pasteurized milk then heat the milk, cool it and cool in the refrigerator. Now use it in recipe.
If we use milk ice instead of regular ice cubes, it will give you an extra rich iced coffee similar to adding ice cream. Feel free to use what you like, you can use regular ice cubes also.
