Ingredients Needed
Here’s what you’ll need to make chicken parmesan:
- Chicken Breasts: It’s because when you cook the chicken you cut it in into halves and since it feeds 4 people per half, 2 large chicken breasts will suffice.
- Breadcrumbs: It has a layer of the seasoned plain breadcrumbs that give the chicken that crispy feel about it on the outside.
- Grated Parmesan: You should buy the pre-grated cheese or grate your own fresh cheese since the former often stick together and may not melt properly.
- Garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt and black pepper is mix for seasoning and the chicken is seasoned with the powder before applying the seasoning on breadcrumbs uniformly.
- Egg: Egg as a glue makes the breading to stick to the chicken.
- All-Purpose Flour: A little bit of flour performs the function of thickening the sauce.
- Cooking Oil: Any light or flavourless cooking oil of your preference is sufficient for this purpose.
- Marinara Sauce: We prefer to use Homemade Marinara Sauce! But the jarred sauce of your own choice would have been equally suitable.
- Mozzarella Cheese: We have used pre-shredded Mozzarella cheese
- Since fresh mozzarella is a little wetter than the other varieties, LMA for whole milk mozzarella cheese is perfect for this recipe. For instance, if you have a preference for provolone cheese in your Sandwich, they allow it.
- Fresh Parsley: Only if you wish to top the juice with some foam, but it really enhance the final look with a fresh twist!
How to make Chicken Parmesan – step by step
Second, hold 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts and use a sharp knife to slice each breast into 2 cutlets, making a total of 4 cutlets. You can also opt for parboiling chicken cutlets since they come pre-portioned.
